🇪🇺 Europe Built on Kudu

How a village hall turns 12 neighbours into a wholesale order.

Terra Corrèze lets anyone — a producer, a mairie, an association, or just one organizing neighbour — rally a group around a regional maker. Every euro locks in escrow on Stellar until the order closes and goods are ready for pickup.

The challenge

Buying local, alone, meant paying full price.

One household can't unlock a wood-pellet supplier's bulk rate, or a winemaker's case discount. Pooling cash with neighbours to hit that volume was the obvious fix — except someone had to collect the money, trust the producer to deliver, and organize where forty families would actually pick up their order.

Terra Corrèze needed a way for a producer, a mairie, or a single motivated neighbour to organize that group with confidence — without any of them ever becoming the one holding everyone's cash.

Why Kudu

Anyone can organize. Kudu holds the money.

Every Terra Corrèze group buy runs on Kudu's escrow pool. A producer can run their own group buy, or hand it to a broker — a mairie, an association, a neighbour — who rallies buyers and earns a small commission for it. Either way, each buyer's share locks on Stellar the moment they join.

Funds locked on Stellar until the group buy closes.
Self-organized or brokered — the producer runs it, or a local third party does.
Pickup at a relais — the mairie, a local shop, or a volunteer neighbour.
48h keyless auto-release — Kudu can speed it up, never block it.
How it works

From one organizer to a whole neighbourhood.

1
A group buy opens
The producer sets it up themselves, or a mairie or association does it for them, with price tiers.
2
Neighbours join
Each buyer pays their share into escrow on Stellar, locked until the group buy closes.
3
A tier unlocks
As more neighbours join, the price drops for everyone at once.
Picked up & released
Buyers collect at the relais; funds release to the producer, plus a commission if a broker organized it.

The pool guarantee: no one is charged for real until the group buy closes. If the tier isn't reached, everyone is refunded automatically.

The results

The village became the customer.

Household budgets that never reached a producer's bulk price now do — 514 group buys and counting, organized by producers themselves, mairies, associations, and single motivated neighbours, with Terra never touching anyone's cash directly.

"The scary part was always the money — who's holding it, who do you trust to pass it on. Now it locks on Stellar the moment someone joins, and releases the second the group buy closes. Our neighbours just see the price drop."

What's next

More relais, more regions.

Terra Corrèze is expanding its relais network — more mairies, shops, and volunteer pickup points — so a group buy can close within walking distance almost anywhere in Corrèze, then beyond.
